Leaked photos suggest Valve is working on its own VR headset

Added: 11.11.2018 14:49 | 1 views | 0 comments

Leaked images of an alleged Valve VR prototype headset have appeared online.
The images first appeared on yesterday (thanks, ), but according to the clock on the desktop computer in the background, they were taken in July 2018. The images are completely unverified, but given their complexity, the number of units shown, and the authentic-looking Valve logo printed on the circuit boards, if they're not genuine headsets, they're incredibly detailed fakes.
Study the images closely, and there appears to be built-in headphones and SteamVR sensors, plus two visible cameras which suggest this headset will provide a larger field of view than the Vive. Uploadvr adds the headset padding "is visually similar" to the padding seen on , which I can't help but agree with.

Can Magic: The Gathering Arena Compete With Hearthstone?

Added: 11.11.2018 4:59 | 1 views | 0 comments

BY JARED JONES: Magic: the Gathering Arena, or MTGA, has been in open beta for a little while now. The Magic: The Gathering franchise was released in 1993 and it could be considered the king of trading card games, due to its longevity and worldwide prevalence. The Magic franchise hasnt been as successful online, as its various digital renditions havent quite reflected its real-world success. The franchise has had its own online platform, and a few small-scale incarnations on consoles and Steam, known as Duels of the Planeswalkers. However, these games failed to pick up any sort of notable traction. Instead, it was Blizzards Hearthstone that took up the spotlight when it comes to online trading card games, standing out from its many competitors.

Added: 11.11.2018 3:00 | 4 views | 0 comments

Aspiring developers take note.
It's evident indie games are selling well on the Nintendo Switch with ongoing reports of successful sales, but why exactly do these games continue to perform so well on this particular platform? At PAX Australia in October, a bunch of indie developers got together for a special panel in an attempt to shed some light on this subject.
Ash Ringrose from SMG Studios said sells more per day on Switch than it does over the course of an entire week on Steam, and this is still happening after 400 days. He went as far as saying the game sold "really badly" on other platforms when compared to Switch sales data. His theory is it's not just about simply releasing any old game, it's about providing this audience with quality experiences:

Esports pros make ‘Movember’ donations to men’s health group

Added: 10.11.2018 19:57 | 1 views | 0 comments

For most of us, ‘Movember’ means the movement where people grow moustaches in November to raise awareness of men’s health, but some esports athletes have put some more on the line. Na’Vi’s Oleksandr “S1mple” Kostyliev and FaZe Clan’s Finn “Karrigan” Anderson have both made monetary donations to a prominent men’s health organization. S1mple announced early Saturday morning that he was donating all his FACEIT Pro League winnings to the UK branch of the Movember Foundation, an organization whose single stated goal is to stop men from dying too young from preventable diseases and neglecting their own health. The organization advocates for better education on prostate and testicular cancers, the promotion of mental healthcare, and suicide prevention. Fellow Counter-Strike: Global Offensive pro Karrigan announced later on Saturday that he was donating £2,000 to CS:GO For Mental Health, Movember's esports-specific fundraiser. “It’s important to bring attention these subjects and every pound matters,” Karrigan tweeted Saturday. “Men’s (mental) health is still a subject that needs more awareness and talking open about it is an important step.” “Thank you for this awesome gesture for men’s health,” the group wrote, “This is changing lives.”
