PlayStation Network is down for a significant number of PlayStation owners. Sony has confirmed the outage, and fans are complaining about "PSN down" on social media. For a while now, some mobile phones have been subject to message bugs that can wreak havoc. Malicious users can send text messages that include unrecognised symbols, often leading to memory overflows, crashes and unstable behaviour. This weekend, reports emerged that a similar bug has affected PlayStation 4 consoles on the PlayStation Network. Sony’s remained suspiciously quiet about this, but have however, fixed the messaging system to prevent the dodgy characters.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has split-screen, although you'd be forgiven for not knowing. The developer, Treyarch, didn't shout about the feature in the run up to the game's release, but now the game's out in the wild, players have of course noticed. There's split-screen for two in competitive multiplayer, although it's worth noting both players must be signed into PlayStation Network and at least one player must have PlayStation Plus for it to work. Up to four players can play split-screen in zombies mode.

The PSN Online ID Change feature beta will be a part of the PlayStation Preview Program, and will become available to select users that have pre-registered as testers for previous PS4 system software betas."
