Carlos writes: "Left 4 Dead proved such a game changer for online co-op gaming, it wasnt much of a surprise to see multiple games looking to jump in on that same formula to try and deliver an equally thrilling experience. One such game that garnered much interest for its efforts though was 2016s Warhammer: End Times Vermintide. Vermintide provided players with the same fast-paced gameplay whilst Warhammer's iconic enemies flooded in. It was certainly a refreshing Warhammer experience, but it wasnt without issues. That was two years ago though, and with the sequel now upon us, can Warhammer: Vermintide 2 provide the ultimate co-op gaming experience?"

"With Valve unlikely to produce another game in the Left 4 Dead series, many imitators have emerged to attempt to fill that space. Where Warhammer: Vermintide and its recent sequel at least looked to build upon the Left 4 Dead formula with their progression system and fantasy setting, Earthfall simply tries to exist by running around in the skin of Left 4 Dead, expecting different results with what can feel like a bare minimum effort. Earthfall Review: Passable For Now But Too Soon To Tell | IRBGamer

As a fan of both Left 4 Dead games, I was surprised to see a new game finally show itself that attempts to catch the formula once again. Adventure through several campaigns, grab up to 3 friends (or randoms) and fight through an unrelenting horde to reach your escape. Earthfall does almost exactly what Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 did core mechanic wise but there are a lot of things you are going to notice when comparing the three; some of it is good, while a lot of it is mediocre, and some is just straight bad.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 Review - Analog Stick Gaming

"Blending Left 4 Dead with the Warhammer fantasy genre almost seems like a match made in heaven. The original Vermintide shamelessly borrowed from the Left 4 Dead formula while keeping the action consistently flowing and offering up a diverse cast that would banter back and forth as we chopped up the hundreds of enemies that came our way. The fantasy element was another feather in the titles cap and one that helped the game find a fairly large audience. Now, some three years later, we have Vermintide 2, a follow-up that does very little to change up what we have played before but still comes across as an enjoyable co-op experience."
